What “household” means
You and the people who live with you, on the Macs you and they personally use. We do not count machines or ask you to manage seats, because a family should not need a licence administrator.
It does not cover rolling the app out across an organisation or a client base. For an organisation, see organisation licences below.
For teams and organisations
Take Dictation suits organisations that need dictation to stay private. Speech is turned into text on each person’s own Mac and never uploaded. There are no accounts to create or manage, and no cloud service holding what anyone says. The only things the app sends are an update check, your licence code when you activate with one, and a check about once a week that your licence is still active.
It is fast, too. Transcription and cleanup run on the Mac’s own chip, so there is no upload, no round trip and no spinner: let go of the key and the sentence is on the page.
Organisation licences are priced by the number of people who will use them. Tell us how many people and how you would roll it out, and we will come back with a price.
What you need to run it
An Apple silicon Mac running macOS 26 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.
Trying it first
The 14-day trial is the same software as the paid app, not a reduced version. It asks for no payment details and does not turn into a charge on its own. When it ends you decide.
If it is not right for you
Tell us within 30 days and we refund you in full. You do not need a reason, and activating your licence does not forfeit it. The full terms are on the Refund Policy page.
Who you are buying from
Take Dictation is made by Shifted Music LLC. Orders are processed by Stripe Managed Payments as merchant of record, which handles payment and invoicing. Each sale is made through Link, which sends your receipt, and your statement shows the charge starting with LINK.COM*, followed by TAKE DICTATION or a shortened form. Stripe Managed Payments calculates and handles sales tax or VAT where it applies.
